- In this context, stock indices rose across the board and recovered part of the lost ground during the previous sessions. Similarly, in fixed-income markets, yields on sovereign bonds edged up in both sides of the Atlantic while euro area peripheral spreads widened modestly.
- In FX markets, safe haven currencies such as the Japanese Yen, the Swiss Franc or the US dollar weakened against other G10 currencies and the euro fluctuated around $1.13.
- The euro area Consumer Confidence indicator declined from -6.3 points to -8.3 in December, in line with the Bloomberg consensus.
